We’ve had a proper giggle in the office this week as we launched our fabulous ARE YOU GAME Photography Competition on Facebook. The competition is tied into the Scottish Game Fair which is held at Scone Palace every year over the first weekend in July. This is the biggest game fair event on the Scottish Calendar and although I’ve not been before I am certainly going this year! A huge Food Hall, country clothing stalls, Scottish Wildlife and lots of interactive events – I’m even told there’s a beer or two to be had along the way!
So, its celebrating 25 years in 2013 and we thought we’d join in the fun. The idea is we’re looking for the best photograph of a Great British Game Bird. We’ve had 4 entries as I type but there is still 4 weeks to go to enter! Have a look at the competition in our page here – you’ll see there are all sorts of interpretations of a Game Bird! I was laughing so hard I almost exploded at the three pairs of tweed clad legs up in the air! You MUST have a look!
I’ve been really surprised at how many fantastic events there are in Perthshire over the summer. The Game Fair is just one of them! Rewind is another hot favourite locally – this huge open air concert brings all the best acts of the eighties to one big party! Look out your neon leg warmers and RELAX T-Shirt; the era is contagious! http://www.rewindfestival.com . The very wonderful Kim Wilde is on stage this year and I’m practising “kids In America” into my hairbrush on a nightly basis… Look Out Scone!
But what I’m really looking forward to is the Beer Festival! Held on The North Inch Park this is just a hop skip and jump from Alexander Residence. There are a couple of proper real ale breweries in the area – Inveralmond does a magnificent Friar’s Tipple that my fiancée loves almost as much as he loves me! Normally served in Greyfriars Bar in Perth it’s a favourite pint at their open mic night or traditional music Mondays. We heard Inveralmond are pride of place on May 11th at the Beer Tent and the tickets have been booked! I almost hope the apartments don’t sell out….
On a completely different note I’d like to say a big Happy Birthday to Provender Brown who supply our Breakfast Hampers. Eight years in business makes them Perth’s longest standing deli and provider of fine cheeses, hams and local artisan produce. Now if I had one of those Perthshire Ales right now I’d toast them properly!
We look forward to seeing you at an event in Perth very soon,
